Pune – A Flourishing City Offering A Future-Proof Life

Pune City has transformed immensely over the last decade and has been ranked the number 1 city in the country in the ‘Ease of Living’ index 2018. The second biggest city of Maharashtra with over 4.5 million people living happily, Pune is best known for its enjoyable weather, amazing nightlife, yummy food and great opportunities in education and career. The upcoming infrastructural developments are paving way for renewed interest in real estate in Pune for investors and homebuyers alike.

Following are a few plans for future development in Pune which will surely take this city forward.

1.   Pune Ring Road

Traffic is a modern-day issue that every bustling city face. The government has come up with the Ring Road project as a future development plan, hoping it will decongest traffic in the city. As per the proposal, Pune ring road will have a total of eight lanes, four lanes will be constructed in the first phase while the other four will be in the second phase. It will have a tunnel, six big bridges, eight flyovers and three rail over-bridges to ease commuting.

2.   Metro

Metro is a project of future development in Pune which will solve many traffic problems of the city and bring additional revenue. The project is set to complete in the next four to five years. The project will cater to many problems apart from traffic such as pollution, road accidents, travelling time, weather extremities etc. The Pune Metro will have three lines: –

  •   Line 1 will run from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Swargate.
  •   Line 2 will run elevated from Ramwadi to Vanaz via Mangalwar Peth and Deccan Gymkhana.
  •   Line 3 will run from Civil Court to Hinjewadi. The 23.3 km line is to be completely elevated having 23 stations.

3.  International Airport

In the last 5 years, Pune airport has seen 50% increase in the number of passengers and most of them travel overseas. Unfortunately, Pune doesn’t have an airport for international flights and so people must go to Mumbai or Delhi to fly overseas. Recently, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the site for the new Pune airport as part of the Pune development plan. This new airport will run both domestic and international flights. As the airport is going to be 45 kms away from the city, there might be a metro link as well from Bhosari for the convenience of people.

Pune is on its way of becoming an evolved urban trendsetter with these future projects. It has the aim to resolve and grow. Life in Pune will come with many essentials giving the city a chance to outgrow some major parts of the country. These developments only offer residents a chance to look forward to a future that’s replete with modern comforts and luxuries.
